Crafted for the Heart
of Your Home
From solid-wood cutting boards to heirloom cookbooks and Italian gifts, every piece we create is rooted in timeless tradition and built to last. No toxins. No shortcuts. Just beautiful, functional tools made with soul.
Made Like Mamma Would
We started making cutting boards after realizing how hard it was to find one that was both non-toxic and truly built to last. If it had a solid piece of wood, it came with a chemical finish. If it was large enough, it was glued together. We wanted something better. Each board we make is crafted in the USA from American-sourced hardwood, shaped from a single solid piece of wood, and finished only with coconut oil and beeswax. No glue, no toxins, just honest materials and lasting craftsmanship. Built to be used daily and admired always, it is a piece of functional art for your kitchen.
Our thoughtfully-made cutting boards are handcrafted, non-toxic pieces you can’t find anywhere else.
Each one is different and can be passed on through generations as a unique family heirloom.

Our cutting boards are handcrafted in the USA.
Our cutting boards are made from one solid piece of hardwood and finished with a blend of fractionated coconut oil and beeswax, that's it! That means no glues, no stains, no mineral oil.
Maple Wood:
Black Walnut:
Although both are hardwood with closed grain, maple is slightly harder with a tighter grain making it just a little more scratch/dent resistant and a little more resistant to bacteria growth. Walnut is a much more unique wood with great coloring and variation.
Due to its natural qualities, our cutting boards vary slightly in thickness. On average our cutting boards are about 1 inch thick.
No. Water and heat will increase risk of swelling, crackling, and warping.
You cannot clean Mamma Mangia cutting boards inside the dish washer or submerge them in water.
Clean immediately following use to prevent staining and bacteria growth. When possible use a damp cloth to wipe clean.
Wash under running water with mild dish soap. Dry immediately with a clean towel then allow it to fully dry in an upright position.
If there is a need to sanitize the board the following methods are preferred: a cloth dampened with hydrogen peroxide, hypochlorous acid, colloidal silver, or deep clean with salt and lemon.
We recommend purchasing our cutting board care kit for proper care and maintenance.
Anytime the board starts to look dull, re-oil using fractionated coconut oil (follow the instructions from the care kit). The frequency will depend on use, but usually once per week for frequent use.
Apply our wax finish every 1-2 months for deep conditioning and protection for the wood.
Over time you will get cutting marks on the boards, we believe these markings give character to your cutting board. However, if you choose, cut marks, wood swelling and imperfections can be lightly sanded using 220 grit sandpaper. After sanding, reseal with our finishing wax.
It is normal for some staining to occur when cutting naturally color rich food. There are several methods to reduce the appearance of stains. Please refer to our care guide download for tips.
